Institute for Materials Research & Innovation (IMRI)

The Institute for Materials Research and Innovation (IMRI) is the lead Research & Development (R&D) entity at UL Lafayette for the development of novel materials to improve system performance and assist in optimization of advanced manufacturing systems and related economic development opportunities. The IMRI has numerous R&D assets and projects that are oriented toward the energy industry, such as battery development, improved metals for down-hole utilization, production of novel materials from biomass, and lightweight materials for structure support of energy devices.
