Eugenia Ndieze

Eugenia's research included the goal of treating water-based wastes while producing value-added products in a biochemical waste conversion system (BIOSYS) with a main focus on the anaerobic digestion stage. “The foundation of the whole research project is what I’m working on,” she said.

“I do a little bit of everything here at EIL. I’m currently 3D Printing photo-bio reactors, helping with the LUS pilot reactor-- I’ve 3D printed a belt for one of the machines before, that was pretty fun. Lately I have been researching how to make things we have 3D printed and make them more chemically and thermally resistant. There is realy never a dull moment here at EIL.”

"As a Student Researcher for the Energy Institute of Louisiana, I've had the opportunity to work under two different Graduate students. Their research is involved with wastewater sludge that is recovered from a nearby wastewater treatment facility. We have researched methods of sterilizing this waste and the affects that oxygen content has on the microbial life in the sludge. I have gained priceless knowledge, lab experience and relationships from my time here."

“Right now, I’m doing machine learning and computer coding for NASA’s LaSPACE program. I’m analyzing data sets from the MAVEN satellite and applying machine learning to generate self-organizing maps. Before this, I worked on the anaerobic digestion part of the MARS project that EIL is working on with NASA.”
